Out-of-Network Benefits

As an  out-of-network provider, I am not directly contracted with any insurance companies. However, many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits for mental health services. If you have a PPO or out of network insurance plan, your insurance will typically refund between 50 and 80 percent of any sessions that take place after your out of network deductible has been met. Superbills will be provided to you which can be sent to your insurance for potential reimbursement.  If you have questions about coverage, please let me know and I would be happy to assist you.

How Reimbursement Works:

Each month (or more frequently upon request), I will provide you with a detailed bill, also known as a superbill. This document contains all the necessary information your insurance company requires for processing claims.

The How to Guide:

Step 1: Review the superbill. Make sure important information is included such as date of service, CPT codes, and diagnoses.

Step 2: Submit the superbill to your insurance provider. The submission process varies by insurer, however, most insurance companies are utilizing electronic submission processes- making it simple and easy to submit your claim.  I always recommended contacting your insurance for specific instructions on how to submit your claim.

Step 3: Your insurance company will review the claim and determine the reimbursement amount based on your out-of-network benefits. They will then issue reimbursement directly to you.

Step 4: Keep track of your reimbursements and any communications with your insurance provider. Follow up with your insurance company if need be.

If you have questions or concerns about the status of your claim, contact your insurance company directly. And remember, I am here to assist you with this process, as I know it can be confusing at times!
